Single-Insertion Method

The anchor bolts are embedded during concrete pouring. For structures like high towers where overturning is a concern, the single-insertion method is recommended.

 

Pre-drilled Hole Method

After the equipment is in place, the holes are cleaned, and the anchor bolts are placed into them. Once the equipment is positioned and aligned, non-shrinkage fine-aggregate concrete (one grade higher than the original foundation) is poured and compacted. The distance from the center of the single-insertion anchor bolt to the edge of the foundation should not be less than 2d (d is the anchor bolt diameter), and should not be less than 15mm (not less than 10mm when d≤20), and not less than half the width of the anchor plate plus 50mm. If these requirements cannot be met, appropriate measures should be taken to strengthen the bolts. The diameter of the anchor bolts used for structures should not be less than 20mm. When subjected to seismic forces, double nuts should be used for fixing, or other effective measures to prevent loosening should be adopted, but the anchorage length of the anchor bolts should be increased by 5d compared to the anchorage length under non-seismic forces.

 

Anchor Bolt Installation Planning and Handling Loose Anchor Bolts in the Foundation: When tightening anchor bolts, they may become loose. In this case, first adjust the bolt back to its original position, then clear sufficient space around the bolt in the foundation. Next, weld two U-shaped reinforcing bars (one longitudinal and one transverse) to the bolt. Finally, clean the pit with water and grout it. Tighten the bolt only after the concrete has solidified to the design strength. Handling Loose Anchor Bolts: The method for handling loose anchor bolts is roughly the same as for fixed anchor bolts, except that the bolt can be pulled out for repair. If the bolt is too long, a section can be cut off on a machine and then threaded; if the bolt is too short, it can be lengthened using hot forging; if the position is incorrect, it can be corrected by bending.
